Housing and Services for Women
Addressing housing instabilty, mental health, and substance use
The Bassuk Center is partnering with New Reach and Yale New Haven Hospital on a five-year research project to understand how to provide outreach, engagement, and services for women experiencing homelessness along with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
As evaluator for this project, the Bassuk Center reviews project performance, identifies effective interventions, and analyzes outcomes such as anticipated reductions in costly hospital visits.
New Reach works to inspire independence for those affected by housing instability and poverty through a continuum of housing and support, using the most innovative and progressive methods. The vision is that all children, families, and individuals in Connecticut are able to find a safe, stable, affordable home with the services and supports necessary to achieve a fulfilling, self-reliant life.
